Serbian Delta stores open shelves to Bulgarian goods
Рубрика: General news Източник: DnevnikDelta M Group, a Serbian holding company active in agriculture, retail, distribution, real estate and financial brokerage, has announced it is ready to negotiate with Bulgarian suppliers of food products and household items to stock the company's stores in its home country and on other markets where it has grocery operations.
The Bulgarian suppliers can gain access to the markets in Bosnia and Montenegro where the Serbian company has market exposure.
Imports already account for some 30% of the items carried by Delta stores.
Delta M, part of the Serbian holding, recently acquired Bulgarian supermarket chain Piccadilly and plans an aggressive push on the local grocery market.
The new owner and the founders of the Bulgarian store chain plan to open 20 new outlets under different retail formats, said Piccadilly manager Stefan Kosev.
The two new retail formats planned by Piccadilly are Piccadilly Express and Piccadilly Extra.
Piccadilly Express will be a convenience store concept with outlet area at 200 to 400 sq m.
Piccadilly Extra will be a chain of supermarkets with outlet area of around 6,000 sq m.
A third store concept that will be launched by Piccadilly are the Tempo self-service wholesale warehouses that will compete with Germany's Metro stores.(Dnevnik)
