Golf Playgrounds Green up Bulgaria

The investor group includes the joint-stock company Golf Creations, co-owned by Air Sofia and Spain's El Plantio.

El Plantio, specialised in the construction of golf playgrounds, sports complexes and real estates, has also engaged with attracting numbers of golf players worldwide to the Sliven-based playground.

The project represents a step further in the investment program of Bulgaria's Air Sofia - which also owns the first golf site at Ihtiman - aimed at promoting golf tourism in Bulgaria.

According to Golf Creations CEOs Georgi Ivanov and Lilyan Todorov, Bulgaria needs at least 4-5 golf playgrounds to "seduce" avid players globally to come and play golf here.

The investment on the Sliven site creeps up to BGN 1,5-2 M, including the fixing of a cutting-edge injection electric system to fertilise the vast grass tract.

Air Sofia is bracing for a third playground construction at the town of Razgrad, northeast Bulgaria. Yet another two playgrounds are projected in Sofia and Vratsa.
